Some musical encounters need nothing more than a beautiful song, subdued light and the time for music to be truly heard.
On 29 September, AIRBAG will present their third studio album, Start Again, in a special acoustic format – a concert dedicated to the song in its purest form, to detail, atmosphere and the stories that stay with us long after the final chord.
Founded in 2005 by brothers Petko and Nikolay Slavov (guitar and vocals), AIRBAG have developed a distinctive musical identity at the intersection of alternative rock, new wave and contemporary pop rock.
Their music combines a strong emotional charge with melodic writing, atmospheric guitars and electronic textures. Music and lyrics carry equal weight, exploring themes of memory, identity, intimacy, loss and hope.
This is music that leaves room to be fully experienced. It takes us into the quiet spaces between words and melodies – moments that return to us long after a song has ended. Through the personal stories woven into their compositions, AIRBAG touch upon universal emotions in which each of us may recognise a part of ourselves.
The band’s latest singles – “In My Head,” “Real Life” and “Higher” – trace the natural development of their creative vision, where melody, atmosphere and deeply personal lyrics go hand in hand. With Start Again, AIRBAG open a new chapter in their story, and on 29 September, the album will be performed live in a specially created acoustic format.
Joining Petko and Nikolay Slavov on stage will be Tsvetan Popov – guitar, and Stanislav Velchev – drums. In this line-up, the music will come even closer to the audience – closer to the voice, the guitars and the lyrics, and to that special kind of silence in which a song can be heard in an entirely different way.
On 29 September, this intimate musical encounter will take place at In The Mood Jazz Club – a venue created for music that deserves to be heard up close.
