On 5 November, Pavel Terziyski presents Hora Da Bossa at In The Mood Jazz Club – an evening filled with the exquisite melodies of Brazilian bossa nova, its delicate pulse and gentle melancholy. The music of Antônio Carlos Jobim, João Gilberto, Vinícius de Moraes and Luiz Bonfá will be performed in an intimate setting of voice, guitar, double bass and percussion – with that understated sensuality in which every word and every note carries meaning.
Joining Pavel Terziyski on stage will be Borislav Iliev on guitar, Daniele Febbo on double bass and Georgi Popov on percussion. The four musicians will offer their own interpretations of a repertoire whose seemingly minimalist melodies reveal the rich harmonies and subtle rhythmic details so characteristic of the style.
Pavel Terziyski is a vocalist, songwriter and composer of theatre music whose projects span jazz, electronic music and vocal experimentation. He is also known for the trio Clavexperience, alongside Skiller and Dimitar Gorchakov. Alongside these creative explorations, bossa nova holds an enduring place in his repertoire – with its attention to melody, delicate phrasing and the closeness between singing and storytelling.
In Hora Da Bossa, the voice tells the stories, the guitar outlines the harmonies, and the double bass and percussion add depth and movement.
